Staff Hub Supervisor

Salary: £7.50 per hour (20 – 30 hours per week Monday to Friday (flexibility required))

Role Purpose
Reporting to the Visitor Centre Manager this is a hands on role with responsibility for the day to day running of all aspects of the staff hub.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Serving customers (internal) at the staff hub during break times including cash handling
• Washing dishes manually and also by using the dishwasher, as well as the cleaning of pots, pans and any other kitchen utensils
• Undertaking food preparation of food for the staff hub ahead of break times and to order in some situations
• Stock replenishments of vending machines and general staff hub area.
• Maintain the kitchen work areas in accordance with HACCP regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness of the Staff Hub at all times
• Storing away all crockery, cutlery and glassware and handling all with great care
• Maintenance of hygiene in your area.
• Emptying bins when they are full.

Sous Chef

Salary: Up to £19,000 (Full time contract)
 
Role Purpose
The sous chef will be the second in command in the kitchen, following the Kitchen Manager’s specifications and guidelines. You will employ culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our guest’s satisfaction.
 
Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the Kitchen Manager in the preparation and design of food menus
• Produce high quality dishes both design and taste wise
• Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
• Fill in for the Kitchen Manager in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
• Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
• Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff’s performance
 
Skills and Attributes

• Relevant substantial experience as a Sous Chef in a busy kitchen (E)
• Food Hygiene certified (E)
• Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients,

Commis CHEF

Salary: £7.80 - £8.00 per hour

Role Purpose
The Commis Chef will support in keeping the kitchen running smoothly by assisting in the preparation of food and general upkeep of the kitchen.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the smooth running of the kitchen production areas
  • Assisting in food preparation
  • Assisting in producing menu ideas
  • Serving and preparing meals for the Staff Hub
  • Maintain the kitchen work areas in accordance with HACCP regulations.
  • Storing away all crockery, cutlery and glassware and handling all with great care
  • Making sure that all kitchen equipment like food mixers, fridges, cookers are in good working order.
  • Reporting any fault equipment to the kitchen manager.
  • Keeping the storerooms well stocked and organised at all times.
  • Keeping breakages down to a minimum.
  • Complying with the daily cleaning rotas.
  • Carrying out regular quality assurance audits.
  • Attending company training programmes when required.
  • Accepting food deliveries from suppliers and storing them.
  • Using the correct amount of specialist chemicals when cleaning work surfaces and equipment.

Kitchen Porter

Salary: £7.50 per hour (Full time contract)

Role Purpose
The kitchen porter keep the kitchen running smoothly by washing up, cleaning and assisting in the preparation of food.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Assisting with the smooth running of the kitchen production areas
• Washing dishes manually and also by using the dishwasher, as well as the cleaning of pots, pans and any other kitchen utensils
• Assisting in basic food preparation
• Maintain the kitchen work areas in accordance with HACCP regulations.
• Storing away all crockery, cutlery and glassware and handling all with great care
• Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor.
• Emptying bins when they are full.

Front of House Servers

Salary: £7.50 per hour

Contracts available:
1 x Monday to Friday 12pm – 3pm (flexibility required)
2 x Weekend contracts 6-12 hours per week (flexibility required)

Role Purpose
To support the Visitor Centre Manager in providing excellent customer and front of house service at all times

Duties and Responsibilities
• Providing customers to Visit Hillbrush with a exceptional level of service
• Ensuring all areas of service, as well as tables are clear and presentable at all times
• Responding in a timely manner to all customer queries or requests
• Serving customers in the shop and museum with exceptional customer service
• Holding an excellent knowledge of our products and menus and actively upsell to customers

TOOL ROOM OPERATIVE

Role Purpose

The Purpose of the Role is to assist the Engineering team with manufacture of component parts for machinery, and the design and manufacture of fixtures, Jigs and tooling, along with assisting on maintenance and improvement projects as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manufacture new component parts for Hillbrush machinery
  • Modify or Repair component parts for machines and general equipment
  • Design and Manufacture fixtures, clamps, jigs and general tooling for the manufacturing areas. 
  • Assist with any new guarding or general equipment required for the manufacturing departments
  • To support any maintenance and improvement projects required around the business
  • Have knowledge of CNC machining techniques and general machining for Lathes and Mills 
  • To ensure components meet all specifications and quality standards as required
Skills and Attributes

  • HND/ City and Guilds Engineering qualification  (D)
  • Relevant Engineering shop floor qualification (NVQ-CNC) or Engineering Apprenticeship (E)
  •  Good general standard of Education (E)
  •  Experienced in Manual Milling and Turning , Precision grinding (E)
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings and create drawings from component parts (E)
  • Ability to problem solve with a can do attitude (D)
  • Significant amount of experience in an engineering tool room environment (E)
 

Machine Operative – Various Departments

To operate machinery while working in a busy factory environment. Successful candidates will have good attention to detail, work efficiently, be reliable, conscientious and have a positive attitude. Previous machine operative experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Salary: £8.25 per hour (£8.00 during training/probation period).
